Sunrise Youth Services offers a unique and individualized treatment setting for youth who need out of home placement and requie the intense services that are available in a smaller therapeutic home setting. Therapeutic foster care is also offered as a "transition" program from a more intensive treatment program. All homes are directed by dedicated and trained Residential Treatment Parents on a 24 hour basis. Residential Group Homes, located in residential neighborhoods, offer a home-like environment that teaches youth to be cooperative, respectful of others, and how to take responsibility for their own behaviors. Sunrise's positive Peer Environments constantly challenge youth to expand their perspectives, to accept and feel good about themselves and life strategies, and to be able to share their individual success and the success of others.
Treatment specialists act as positive role models for youth in their care. Treatment specialists may introduce youth to cultural and community events, act as a tutor, counselor, or disciplinarian, depending upon the needs of the youth. Specialists spend 2 to 10 hours per week with their assigned youth or home. Treatment specialists are paraprofessionals who are carefully screened and trained in the areas that they are hired to work. |
